I have spent nearly 2/3 of my adult life in one form or another of the milwaukee brace for everything from scoliosis to degenerative arthritis of the spine ,and a few things thrown in besides my current brace is a stainless steel and leather device that weighs in at nearly30 pounds ,and I am having a new one made from thermo-plastic that will only weigh around 7.5 pounds ,a huge improvement !as I have had to endure this form of bracing ,it occured to me that I might not be the only one out there that has had to wear this brace for anything adult ,thus the reason for this blog -if anyone that reads this blog has had any similar situations with the milwauke brace or even any other brace ,kindly add your comments to this blog ,and yes IAM aware that this brace is not customarily fitted to adults except for extreme situations involving intractable pain and its control and management
